「青年科技專才展覽及比賽 2019」圓滿舉行
各界青年專才「整合」知識開拓創新意念
昨日（2019年7月7日），工程及科技學會香港分會（IET Hong Kong）青年會員部（YMS）的年度旗艦活動「青年科技專才展覽及比賽 2019」（YPEC 2019）於香港城市大學圓滿舉行。該活動來到第二十九屆，本年選擇了「Integration（整合）」作為活動主題，希望參賽者從不同的角度整理和揉合各項工程知識，打破傳統的框架，呈現出多元而又獨特的創新意念。
大會感謝82隊來自 5 個組別（中學、專上教育、學士、學士後及公開組）、合共超過 250 名青年專才的積極參與，他們透過口頭報告、攤位及海報展示等積極向公眾及傳媒展示他們的創新意念。
大會亦很高興邀請到政府資訊科技總監林偉喬太平紳士蒞臨，與參與者分享香港的創新發展。林先生表示：「特區政府一直致力推動香港創新及科技的發展，而培育創科「新血」對香港未來科技發展更為關鍵。本次活動與政府培育年輕人才的政策正正相輔相承，為年青人將來進入數碼化的科技社會做好準備。」活動中，來自政府、業界及學界的評審及嘉賓，包括立法會工程界盧偉國議員博士工程師及立法會資訊科技界莫乃光議員，亦有參觀各青年專才的攤位，與他們互動交流。
為支持推動 STEAM 教育發展並鼓勵青年人未來投身業界，激發香港的創科潛能，YPEC 2019中學組冠軍隊伍將有機會到一所國際知名的工程公司香港分部進行為期兩天的工作體驗，而其他組別的冠軍隊伍則有機會晉身由工程及科技學會舉辦的「Present Around The World (PATW)」 全球科技演講比賽競逐殊榮，將香港精彩的創科新意念帶進國際舞台。
